1.
Sacred Night 05:29
SACRED NIGHT Verse 1 One bright star shone in the East As the Ancient said Cool rains of Bethlehem wash my weary steps Following the star I search for a king In a bed of hay Secrets must be kept Lives will be lost By the sword of Herrod's rage Chorus Oh Sacred night Oh Wondrous night Verse 2 Mother Mary don't you weep See the joy on each face Your little son He is the chosen one And love is born today Wars will still be fought So all creation waits For the time yet to come When our tears are wiped away Chorus Oh Sacred night Oh Wondrous night Oh Holy night Oh Sacred night Solo out

CHRISTMAS TILL FALL Christmas will get here in time And not too soon All the colored leaves have to go The sky is gray now And the ground is soft and wet How can I tell the kids That it’s not wise to search For reindeer prints in new falling snow But today if there’s peace on earth Or a little less hurt Cause someone feels worth Who never felt any hope before It’s o.k. that’s what love is for Why should Christmas have to end at all Maybe Christmas should just last till fall The advent story told by candlelight Strong voices singing Silent Night Little socks hung above the warmest fire As children dream of what they desire Why should Christmas have to end at all I think Christmas should last till fall
3.

SOME CHILDREN SEE HIM Some children see him lily white The baby Jesus born this night Some children see him lily white With tresses soft and fair Some children see him bronzed and brown The Lord of heaven to earth come down Some children see him bronzed and brown With dark and heavy hair Some children see him almond eyed The saviour whom we kneel beside Some children see him almond eyed With skin of yellow hue Some children see him dark as they Sweet Mary’s son to whom we pray Some children see him dark as they And oh they love him too. Album Notes
This CD is a compilation of 12 songs 11 originals and one old hymn written by Alfred Burt (Hollis Music). The writers and band members include some of Canada's most Celebrated Jazz, R&B and Rock musicians.
Glenda Rae:
Raised in a profoundly musical family (father and mother gospel ministers, sister Christine Duncan a respected jazz icon), Glenda's exposure to music began seemingly from the womb. In her infancy she demonstrated an uncanny ability to harmonize with other singers. As she matured, it became apparent to anyone in proximity that her talent was nothing less than prodigious. Her passion for blues, soul, and gospel saturated her musical development.

Glenda's soulfulness is tied to a complete technical mastery of her voice. Centered as an alto, it glides effortlessly through her range. Unique in texture and timbre, she can express herself in the most pure of voices, (complete with the most unwavering control in terms of pitch) or make her voice turn and tumble like a high wire acrobat. Velvet restraint in one instance, and volatile passion the next are hallmarks of a Glenda Rae performance.

Miles Black
Based in Vancouver, BC, Miles Black is a highly respected career musician bringing an enormous wealth of musical experience and expertise to most every facet of the music industry. Firstly known as one of Canada's most accomplished jazz pianists, Miles is also highly acclaimed and sought after as an arranger, producer, composer, session musician, guitarist, vocalist, bassist, saxophonist, songwriter, and musical theatre director. Adding to that, he has worked as a music therapist and collegiate music instructor. Especially in Vancouver, Miles Black is well know as the "first call' when musicians are looking for top professional enhancements to their projects.

A triple threat musician, Brett has cemented his reputation as a guitarist, vocalist, and bassist, and anchored groups that enjoyed major label contract success. Brett possesses one of the most distinctive voices in Canadian professional music. Soulful and expressive, Brett's vocal delivery can be found gracing hundreds of recordings. Brett's signature guitar playing is revered by guitar aficionados everywhere.

Kerry Galloway:
Kerry’s work encompasses roles from bassist to producer to composer/arranger. Stylistically his experience ranges from jazz (Altered Laws) to rap (Sweatshop Union), pop/opera (The Tenors), jazz fusion (The New Noakes Quartet, Crash), country (k.d. lang), variety (Bob Hope, Leon Bibb, Pat Boone, “pops” with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra), klezmer (Olam), “Buddha Bar” style lounge/chillout (Astrid), latin (World Music Award winner Gabriel Palatchi Trio, the Fito Garcia Bass Ensemble), Balkan/Flamenco (Tambura Rasa, featuring the Black Dog String Quartet) funk, R&B, reggae, Brazilian, musical theatre and more.
